About the Robert Boltz Scholarship Foundation

The Robert V. Boltz Scholarship Foundation is a nonprofit organization that was founded in 2021. The mission of the foundation is to raise and issue funding, primarily in the form of institutional grants, to qualifying individuals who plan to attend the PPATEC HVAC & Energy Professional Program. This technical training school is recognized as a Private Licensed School within the state of Pennsylvania. This foundation will support workforce development within the HVAC and energy industry.

Graduates of this program will be encouraged to seek employment opportunities from Pennsylvania Petroleum Association and PPATEC member companies, entering the workforce as fully trained technicians. Q: Who is Robert V. Boltz?

Robert (Bob) Boltz is a longtime member and supporter of the Pennsylvania Petroleum Association. During his tenure as a PPA member, he served the association as a president, vice president, treasurer, and as longtime chairman of the Education Committee. Bob played a pivotal role in establishing the original hands-on facility that has served as the foundation for PPATEC to continue to expand technical training opportunities.

Bob’s servant leadership style extended beyond the PPA. He supported the industry in multiple ways in addition to operating his own business, Vincent R. Boltz (Lebanon, PA). Other industry associations that Bob served in leadership roles included the National Oilheat Research Alliance (NORA), EMA (formally Petroleum Marketers Association of America), and OESP (Oil & Energy Service Professionals). Bob’s dedication to the energy and HVAC industry is unmatched. This scholarship foundation honors his lifelong commitment.

Q: If I donate, how does my money support Pennsylvania technical students?

A: Your donation will go directly into our scholarship fund, which is distributed to qualifying applicants in Pennsylvania. The recipients can then use the scholarship money to enroll in the HVAC & Energy Professional Program hosted by PPATEC, a leading technical training provider in our state.

Q: Is my donation tax deductible?

A: We are a nonprofit  501(c)(3) organization. All donations are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. A copy of our IRS tax exemption certificate can be found here.

Q: What are the qualifications for scholarship applicants?

A: Scholarship applicants must be United States citizens, 18 years of age or older, a high school graduate or high school equivalent certificate holder, have fewer than two years’ industry employment, and complete an essay/questionnaire describing why they are deserving of receiving the scholarship.

Q: What is the amount of the scholarship?

A: Scholarship amounts will vary. Amounts will based upon available funding.

Q: How frequently is the scholarship awarded?
